MDSM84... Let's go Vintage!

Hi, it's Tami.  For this week's template, I have a fairly simple design leaving it open to a lot of creative enhancements.  My challenge is to incorporate a vintage feel or vintage photo into your page.  This is something I've been wanting to do for a long time.  There are lots of great downloads with grunge or vintage elements, such as Gorgeous Grunge, Downtown Grunge, and Old School.  So, dig out those old photos of your grandparents or even great-grandparents and have fun!

Challenge Guidelines:
  • Please create a new MDS project for the current challenge.
  • Provide a link back to MDS Monday or use the Challenge Graphic above within your post.
  • Link directly to your Post for this challenge, not your entire blog. (So we can find your project)
  • You can create a Card, Scrap Page or 3-D Object with the Sketch.
  • The Challenge will end on Saturday October 4th @ 12pm EST.
  • Have fun!
We can't wait to see what you create... Check out our Design Team's projects below for some great Inspiration!

MDSM78.. Map it out!

Hi, it's Tami as your hostess this week.  Since summer is filled with vacations, I thought it would be fun to focus a template on vacations and traveling.  My challenge is to use a map in your background.  You can take a photo of a map, like I did for my page, or include one of the many stamp maps in downloads such as On Holiday, Travel Log and World Traveler.  For my page, I ended up re-coloring the map to a monotone color so it wouldn't distract too much from my pictures.  Have fun!!!

  • The Challenge will end on Saturday Aug. 23rd @ 12pm EST.
  • Have fun!
Check out what the Design Team created below with this fun Sketch.. We hope you will join us!

MDSM64 Tami's Sparkling!!!

Hi, it's Tami with a card sketch for you this week.  If this sketch looks familiar, it's based on a card from the Occasions Catalog on page 2.  I love the new Starburst punches on MDS, so I though it would be fun to focus a card template on those punches.

As an added challenge, add some gold accents to your card!  There are so many new fun downloads that include gold, including the Glimmer Kit, Gold & Silver Baker's Twine, and Gold Sequins.  If you don't have gold downloads, simply try coloring some accents More Mustard.  It's a great alternative.

Be sure to check out the Guidelines above under "About MDS Monday" the challenge is open for 2 weeks and the Linky will close on Friday May 9th @ 11:55pm EST.

MDSM57 Fun with Filmstrips!

Hi, this is Tami with a new scrapbook challenge.  I thought it would be fun to create a scrapbook page with one or multiple filmstrips.  I recently built a filmstrip for a card I made, and it came out so cute, I thought it would be a fun element for a scrapbook page!  I built my filmstrip from the Candid Frames download, but right after I designed my template, Stampin' Up! released the On Film Kit, which would work perfectly with this challenge.  Because the photos are all groups together, this technique is great for using lots of photos on a page without making the page look too cluttered.

Be sure to read the Guidelines above under "About MDS Monday".

I also made a quick video to explain how I built the filmstrip:

The challenge is open for 2 weeks so you have lots of time to join us.. We can't wait to see what you create with Filmstrips! In the meantime check out what the Design Team created below to help get you inspired! The Linky will close on Friday March 21st @ 11:55pm EST.

MDSM50 We're Watercoloring!

Hi, this is Tami, and I have a new card challenge for you today.  I'm in love with the new watercolor stamp brushes, so I thought it would be fun to create a card template with a watercolor wash as a background.  There are lots of stamp sets with these washes, including Be Yourself, Beautiful Today, and Watercolor Winter.

I've been experimenting with them by stacking them on top of each other and changing the opacity, and the effect is really beautiful.  (Tip:  If you don't like seeing another color underneath one of these stamps, try pasting duplicate stamps in place and coloring the bottom one(s) white.  Sometimes you may need to layer multiple white copies.)  After you've created your wash, add any stamp on top for a pretty hand painted effect.  I hope you have fun with this challenge.  I can't wait to see what you come up with!!!

Be sure to read the Guidelines about under "About MDS Monday"

The Challenge is open until Friday Jan 31st @ 11:55pm EST...We hope you will join us! Check out what the Design Team created below to get your started!
