MDSM 111 - Cute & Done!

Hi everyone, it's Jeanna here with this week's MDS Monday sketch challenge for you!  I chose a fun, simple, versatile sketch this week.  I know sometimes I go a little overboard in MDS, but lately life has been crazy busy - so right now, I just need cute and DONE!  To make this page go even faster, use one of your fave Project Life by Stampin' Up! downloads. The 3"x4" cards are the perfect size for this border

Challenge Guidelines:

  • Please create a new MDS project for the current challenge.
  • Provide a link back to MDS Monday or use the challenge graphic above within your post.
  • Link directly to your post or mydigitalstudio.net sample page for this challenge, not your entire website (So we can find your project)
  • You can create a card, scrapbook page or 3-D object with the sketch.
  • The Challenge will end on Saturday May 2nd @ 12pm EST.
  • Have fun!

Thank you so much to everyone who played in the "Tie it Up with a Bow" sketch challenge. Your pages were fabulous! It was so hard to pick just two.

 Here are this week's picks:

Donna
Pinterest

The photo is gorgeous by itself, but the colors and subtle patterns that Donna used just showcase it perfect!

I love Diane's take on the sketch with the addition of those flowers in the bottom left.

Thanks to everyone who participated!
Be sure to come back tomorrow for our new challenge!

MDSM 110 - Tie It Up With A Bow

Hi friends, Yapha here with another scrapbooking sketch for you. Whenever I see elements of a card or scrapbook page on an angle, I love how they look. Invariably however, I tend to use all straight lines when left to my own devices. With this sketch, though, I am deliberately skewing the papers for a fun and whimsical look. The ribbon helps to tie everything in place, almost holding down the stack of papers.

  • The Challenge will end on Saturday April 25th @ 12pm EST.
  • Have fun!

Weekly Winners MDSM109

I hope you enjoyed this week's sketch.  I am always amazed at all the wonderful pages our participants submit.  Great job, Everyone!

 Here are this week's picks:

Shelley
Shelley's Musings

Shelley was a bit tentative with her MDS skills, but I think she hit it out of the park!  I love the muted photo backdrop and using several boxes for one image.  Great job!

Wendie
Epic Day - MDSM 109
Wendie did such a great job of combining bold text and image cards with her photos.  Although there are a lot of colors going on, they meld together seamlessly.  The neutral background choice is perfect.

Thanks to everyone who participated!
Be sure to come back tomorrow for our new challenge!

MDS Update from Stampin' Up!

Hi there, it's Tami.  I have a few bits of GOOD news concerning My Digital Studio this morning that I wanted to share with you.  Stampin' Up! made the following announcements on it's Demonstrator website this morning:

While Stampin' Up! previously announced that the MDS product line would be unavailable after Sunday, May 31, 2015, it is excited to let you know that all of its MDS items will be included in the upcoming Retired List promotion from April 21-June 2, 2015.  Digital downloads, software, and print products will all be discounted by 30 percent and are guaranteed to be available through the end of the promotion (MDS software discs are available while supplies last). Click here to see a list of products, including promotional prices for each item.

New Dates
Stampin' Up! has extended the availability date for MyDigitalStudio.net, the digital download manager, and its MDS YouTube, Facebook, and Pinterest pages through midnight, June 9, 2015. Demonstrators and customers may call Demonstrator Support for assistance with MDS until Demonstrator Support closes at 7:00 PM (MT) on Tuesday, June 9.

Project Life
The Let’s Get Away Digital Project Life Card Collection by Stampin’ Up! from the occasions catalog was posted on the ProjectLife.com website yesterday and is currently available for 20 percent off.  For the foreseeable future, all Digital Project Life card collections will be made available through the ProjectLife.com store.  (There are both Project Life by Stampin' Up! and Project Life digital downloads at that site.)  I've never tried to download something from this site, but I plan on buying the Let's Get Away download, so I'll let you know what I find out.

Future Updates
While Stampin' Up! will not sell MDS after June 2, 2015 or offer support for MDS after June 9, 2015, it is working on a solution for you to continue to be able to use your digital downloads and order print products. Stay tuned for updates.

Stampin' Up! hopes you enjoy the Retired List promotion—and that the extended deadlines will be helpful to both demonstrators and customers as it phases out the MDS product line.

So, that's a little encouraging!  I'll keep you updated as I learn more information.

MDSM 109 - Linear Checkerboard

Hi Everyone!  It's Heidi, and it's my turn to host this week's MDS Monday sketch.  This week I thought it would be fun to layout a mixture of photos and background papers or stamp images at a linear angle.  This is a great way to tell a pictorial story while breaking it up with patterns or solid spaces.  In the solid or pattern squares, you can add dates, details, or journaling.  Can't wait to see what you create!

  • The Challenge will end on Saturday April 18th @ 12pm EST.
  • Have fun!

Weekly Winners MDSM108

A big thanks to everyone who posted pages this week!  They were ALL terrific, and you did a great job adding detailed, meaningful journaling.  Once again, I feel like you're all winners, but I am forced to select a few, so here it goes:

 Here are this week's picks:

Sharon
Sharon's Inkie Fingers
Sharon told such a wonderful story about her wedding day, and I love the picture of her looking out the window at the rain.  The sepia colored photos and subtle colors of the background added to an overall elegant page.  Just lovely!

Diane
MyDiane Designs
Diane used some wonderful effects to create her aquarium page, and she also added lots of details and feeling to her journaling.  The background makes me feel like I'm looking into an aquarium!  This is just a beautiful page!

Thanks to everyone who participated!
Be sure to come back tomorrow for our new challenge!

MDSM 108 - Focus on Journaling

Hi, it's Tami with this week's challenge.  I thought we'd go vertical this week with layers.  For the boxes, you can add as little or as many photos as you want.  You could even replace that part with embellishments.

My challenge to you this week is to tell a story, to really work on your journaling.  Instead of just labeling your photos (who, what, when, where), put some feeling into it.  Add emotions, a funny story, a tender moment, something that made you laugh, a particular thought, or something unexpected.  Try to be specific and detailed so it's meaningful.  Writing is typically a struggle for most of us, but if we practice, it becomes easier and our pages become much more memorable.  Someday, when you look back, you're going to be happy you put in the effort!

  • The Challenge will end on Saturday April 11th @ 12pm EST.
  • Have fun!
