Welcome back to MDS Monday.. It's Holly here as your hostess this week and I've created a fun sketch for you. Tami's Top Pick for MSDM#78!

Thanks so much to everyone who participated in the map challenge this week!  ALL of the entries were so good that I had a terrible time deciding on a winner.  Seriously, they are all fantastic!!!  I loved your different uses of maps, the great photo and color combinations, and all the little touches you added.

Anita Krul

I love the way Anita blurred her map, except for the focal point.  That was simply a brilliant idea.  I also really love the way she broke up the colors of the page with the large white frame around the central picture of the lighthouse, with the simple staples as accents.  The beautiful blue sky in her photos and that little touch of blue on the map just added up to an all around lovely page!  Congratulations Anita.

MDSM78.. Map it out!

Hi, it's Tami as your hostess this week.  Since summer is filled with vacations, I thought it would be fun to focus a template on vacations and traveling.  My challenge is to use a map in your background.  You can take a photo of a map, like I did for my page, or include one of the many stamp maps in downloads such as On Holiday, Travel Log and World Traveler.  For my page, I ended up re-coloring the map to a monotone color so it wouldn't distract too much from my pictures.  Have fun!!!

Thank you all for joining our Challenge this week! It was great seeing all the varieties of layers from everyone.  This is my last week to select picks - and I'm going to miss working with these talented women on the design team.  I have enjoyed working with them and learning from them.  You can be sure that I will continue participating in the challenges even if I'm no longer on the Design Team.

Gotta Stamp with Suzanne

I love the use of the Botanical Gazette DSP that Suzanne chose for her layout.  I also liked her idea of putting the title on a piece of "tape".  You wouldn't be able to do that easily in real life - but MDS makes those sorts of things easy peasy.  I also love all the stitching behind the little bird cage on the left.  Congratulations, Suzanne, and thanks for the inspiration. ~Joan

MDSM77.. Layer it up!

Welcome back to another fun challenge here at MDS Monday.. Thank you to everyone who entered our DT Call, we will be in touch with you by the end of August. Are you ready to Digital create with us? We are saying goodbye to our Design Team member Joan this week and she's closing her time out with us by Hosting the challenge this week. We want to wish her the best of Luck with her future endeavors and I want to Thank her for all of her hard work here at MDS Monday she's been with us since the beginning. So without further ado let's here from Joan. 

Howdy, Howdy….it's Joan here, and it's my turn to host.  I thought I'd go for lots of layers - overlapping images, overlapping DSP and overlapping photos.  You could also include layered embellishments in a little grouping. And don't forget to use the drop shadow to help make everything pop off the page.  Most of all - have fun with all the layers!

MDSM76 & DT Call!

Hello everyone! Cindy here! I use one of the templates from the photo layouts in MDS as my inspiration for this challenge. I have always loved the look of large photos on a page and in this challenge I divided it up so that you could use the template for large wide photos for scrapbook page or wide layers for card. 

You could use three photos or like our designers have done, make one of them a layer for your journaling section. Finding a photo for this might be a challenge as well. Look for photos that you can narrow the height on and focus on the width.
