Here we go with sketch challenge #99! Did I just say 99? Oh wow! Wait until next week! Here is a great layout for a birthday or any celebration! Use all kinds of Designer Series Paper with the rectangle punches and fill your circle (or other shape if you wish) punches with photos. Just go for it! ~ Cindy

Thank you so much to everyone who participated in the Punch challenge!  It was really fun to see all the different punches that people used!  We had such variety and I know I will be using a few of these ideas in the future!

I really love how Sharon used the date for her punches.  Both of her pages were great but I really liked the photo in the background of this version.  Sharon plans to use her page n the front of her 2015 calendar, what a great idea!

Another beautiful fall page!  Can you tell I am over winter?   I loved how Laurie used another punch slightly offset to frame her main image.  I also like the falling leaves sprinkling down the page.  Lovely.

MDSM 98 - Let's Use Punches!

Lets use punches!  Hi everyone, Beth here with this week's challenge!  For this week's challenge, I would like you to use a punch to add photos to your page.  I have made a simple sketch to get you started but feel free to add more photo filled punches and change it up a bit to fit your needs.    Suggestions could be stars for a sporty page, ornaments for Christmas, leaves or pumpkins for fall.

Sometimes you may want to only fill part of a punch with your photo to make it work (for example you don't want to cut off part of a face with a points of the star.)  You can edit the way the photo fits by double clicking the shape and zooming out or in.  Then, if you are left with some black spaces, you can fill them with some designer series paper (DSP).  To fill in the background with DSP, copy the punch and paste it in place, then fill it with DSP and send it behind.  I have done exactly that in my sample below.

Hi there!  It's Anita with a fun, new sketch for this week!  No special tricks or techniques to try this week.... I just want everyone to relax and create something fun after the busyness of the Christmas season.  This is the time of year that we are sort of settling in and waiting out the rest of winter... so just pull up your MDS, pour yourself a cup of coffee, and play for FUN this week!

MDSM96 Chalkboard Challenge

Happy New Year!  We have a few changes to announce.  After dreaming up the concept of MDS Monday, and leading us through 95 challenges, both Holly and Tara have decided to step down and focus their efforts elsewhere.  All the other designers at MDS Monday want to give them a big hug and thank you for their inspiration, creativity and leadership!  This site wouldn't exist without them, nor would any of us be part of this great group.  The remaining members of the design team love this site and My Digital Studio so much that we want to continue where Holly and Tara left off.  So, Tami and Yapha have volunteered to help lead the group and move forward with new challenges and sketches. 

Additionally, we want to thank our December Guest Designer, Sharon Maranich!  Thank you so very much for your wonderful pages this past month.  We loved seeing your creative designs each week!

With all that said, let's move on to this week's challenge.  Tomorrow, the new Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog is coming out, which includes the new chalkboard paper.  So, we thought it would be fun to show how we can use chalkboards on our digital pages.  There is no sketch for this week; it's an open challenge.  So let your imagination flow, and show us what you can do with chalkboards!  You can find chalkboard paper in the following downloads:  Back to School and Hello World.  Also, if you're looking for some fun free chalkboard fonts, try this link from Yapha.
